Loading Shovel Training
Objective:
To train operators on the safe and efficient use of loading shovels, emphasising material handling, site safety, and equipment upkeep.
Key Components:
Introduction to Loading Shovels: Overview of different types, uses, and key components.
Safety Requirements: PPE, safe operating practices, site safety, and risk assessment.
Pre-Operational Inspections: Checking tyres, hydraulics, bucket integrity, and safety features.
Operational Skills: Basic controls, loading and unloading techniques, manoeuvring with loads, and material handling.
Maintenance Practices: Routine maintenance tasks, identifying wear and tear, and troubleshooting common problems.
Practical Training: Supervised hands-on practice, focusing on real-world loading and unloading scenarios.
Duration:
Renewals: 1-day Refresher and Test (£230)
Beginners: 3-days, including training and test (£690). A maximum of 3 persons
Certification:
Participants receive operator certification through The Association of Industrial Truck Trainers (AITT) or City & Guilds. Where City & Guilds is used for training and assessment, this can count towards the NVQ process.
Training Location:
On customer site/premises.
