Appeals Policy
1. Introduction
Site Safety Group Limited is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and integrity in all our services and operations. We recognise, however, that there may be occasions where individuals or organisations disagree with our decisions. To this end, we have established an Appeals Policy to ensure that all appeals are handled fairly, transparently, and efficiently.
2. Purpose
The purpose of this Appeals Policy is to:
Provide a clear and transparent process for submitting and handling appeals.
Ensure all appeals are assessed impartially and objectively.
Uphold the principles of fairness and integrity throughout the appeals process.
3. Scope
This policy applies to all our services, including safety training and consultancy. It covers appeals relating to, but not limited to, training, certification decisions, assessment outcomes, and service delivery.
4. Definitions
Appeal: A formal request to review a decision made by Site Safety Group Limited.
5. Procedure for Submitting an Appeal
Submission: Appeals must be submitted in writing within 30 days of the decision being communicated to the appellant. The appeal should clearly state the grounds for appeal and include any relevant evidence.
Acknowledgment: Receipt of the appeal will be acknowledged within 5 working days, and the appellant will be informed of the appeals process.
Review: An initial review will be conducted to determine if the appeal is valid. If it is, a more detailed investigation will be undertaken.
Investigation: The investigation will be conducted by an individual or committee not involved in the original decision. This ensures impartiality.
Decision: The outcome of the appeal will be communicated to the appellant within a specified timeframe, usually no more than 30 days from the acknowledgement of the appeal.
Record Keeping: Records of all appeals and their outcomes will be maintained securely.
6. Confidentiality
All appeals will be handled confidentially, with information disclosed only to those who need to know to facilitate the appeal resolution.
7. Further Steps
If the appellant is not satisfied with the outcome of the appeal, they may seek further review from an external body, where appropriate. Details of this process and the appeal’s decision will be provided.
8. Monitoring and Review
Site Safety Group Limited will regularly monitor and review the Appeals Policy and procedures to ensure they remain effective, fair, and aligned with best practices.
9. Approval
This Appeals Policy has been approved by the senior management of Site Safety Group Limited and is effective immediately. All employees, clients, and partners are encouraged to familiarise themselves with this policy.
